So you want to write a Next Generation story?  Cool, it can be one of the most fun things to write.  If written right it can be fun to read for those who enjoy this particular type of story (some people don't like next generation, it's just not in their taste.  So don't push them if they tell you that.  It's nothing personal).  But you have to be careful in crafting things so that the stories are believable.  This guide is designed for next generation character creation, because these types of characters require special consideratio

Welcome!  I'm  Hoodie.  You can probably tell from my journals and such that I don't care for Livejournal 'badfic 'sporks (I don't mind the plastic ones you eat with, though), self-proclaimed' 'Mary Sue hunters' and flamers.   Often what these guys go after is subjective at best (If it's female and gets too friendly with a canon character it's a Sue) and very much swayed by personal taste.  I'm not going to say Sues don't exist, but we don't need to be condemning people for it;  writing a Sueish character is not the eighth deadly sin, folks.  It's something that a lot of beginning writers do.

READ BEFORE YOU COMMENT

So often I hear comments, whether online or in real life, that make hasty generalizations about a whole genre of music is “just bad”.

Pop, rock, rap, gospel, country, alternative, showtunes, etc.

These are just styles of music. There’s no rule that says one particular style has to include some content, it’s just the kind of music the words are set to. You could write an uplifting or religious song as hard rock if you wanted to. Or a violent, sexist country song.

All those people who think “modern music” and “punk rock” are corrupting our children- no a style or the date the song came out cannot inherently corrupt us. The content of a particular song can.

Blame the lyrics; blame the person who wrote the song, but blaming the style of music is just ridiculous.

I agree. Jesus, I don't understand these little fights that someone's choices of genre. I admit and people might already see I love K pop but there are some songs that I love the lyrics and others that make you go WTF. It's the same in American music too. There is some songs that are have amazing lyrics and meaning and there is others that make you question.

No genre is better then another. It's the choice of the songs in that genre you like to listen too. I just love music in general and all types of music anyways so there isn't any points in fighting when it comes to music. :)
